Develop the skills to design and analyse propulsion systems, including those for launching vehicles into space, and ones used for navigation of spacecraft.
Overview
Important dates
This involves studying areas such as advanced fluid mechanics, rocket propulsion in solid, chemical, and hybrid systems, as well as advanced concepts such as solar sails and microthrusters for navigation in space. You will also study thermochemistry and nozzle flows relevant to launch systems, as well as green propulsion and reusable launch technology. This choice could prepare you for roles in launch vehicle development, spacecraft engineering, defence and aerospace research, or emerging commercial spaceflight companies.
