Percolation Theory and Combinatorial Probability

We study mathematical questions arising in discrete and combinatorical probability theory as well as different models in percolation theory. Some of the problems and models we have been studying in the past years are:

  • divide and color processes, and other representations of stochastic processes
  • various percolation models
  • combinatorial optimization (e.g., travelling salesman problems and perfect matchings)
  • noise sensitivity and mixing times

The study of these questions often involves a combination of algebra, analysis and probability theory.
