You need to use MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) to access Microsoft’s cloud services. This means you may need to verify yourself using an app on your phone when you use one of the connected services.
Activating MFA takes about 5–10 minutes. You need the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone and add your account in the app. When you need to log in with MFA, the service will notify you, and you confirm in the app that it’s you logging in.
Download Microsoft Authenticator
If you don’t already have the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone, start by installing it.
Add your account in Microsoft Authenticator
You can add your account in two ways.
Reset MFA in MyAccount
If your MFA login is not working, you can reset MFA and then add your account to Microsoft Authenticator again by following the instructions above.
To reset MFA, log in to MyAccount and select Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
From 14 October 2026, you must use BankID or Freja+ to access this service. If you cannot use BankID or Freja+, you need to visit Chalmers Service Centre for an identity check. After a successful identity check, you will receive time-limited access and can log in using your CID and password.
